Grammar for the practitioner – inflection and vocabulary
„Grammar for the Practitioner” is a collection of grammar exercises arranged according to their communicative functions for foreigners learning Polish as a foreign language. Grammar consists of 296 pages of A4 format. This part of the series deals with inflection and vocabulary.
The publication consists of more than a dozen main chapters on case and vocabulary formation with smaller subsections. Each chapter is a new grammatical issue, which is first discussed in a theoretical section aimed at two audiences: the learner and the teacher (which is also graphically distinguished). In turn, it is followed by practical training based on sets of exercises corresponding to the theoretical issues. The theoretical part begins with the presentation of a given topic (where possible, such as case inflectional endings) in the form of a pie chart with specific examples. The main purpose of this is to facilitate its memorization and consolidation in memory. This is a great help to the learner, who is often confronted with the enormity of complex tables.
In order to make this information even more accessible to the viewer, examples have been placed first, and only then come descriptions of the phenomena taking place, which are also useful for the reader. The posted examples have been carefully selected so that, based on them, the learner himself draws conclusions and effortlessly performs subsequent exercises, thus seeing progress in learning. This is an essential motivating element in the acquisition of language skills.
