KNOW-HOW
There is a persistent opinion about the Polish language that it is one of the most difficult languages in the world. Perhaps there is some truth in this… We want to challenge this stereotype in our work, so we take a holistic approach to language learning: teaching and creating our own materials. We have developed a method that works well both in lessons and in the creation of textbooks:
- we consistently eliminate reference language in the learning process,
- we select the material precisely and prioritise it carefully,
- we use the context and situation in which the conversation takes place as an aid to understanding what is being said,
- we dispense with grammatical comments and metalanguage,
- expose the learner to linguistic input, which helps them to discover the rules of the language on their own,
- being aware of the lack of time for the student to learn on his/her own, we construct the materials and conduct the classes in such a way that the lesson is an opportunity for the student to repeat the material repeatedly in order to develop a linguistic habit,
- we understand the importance of correct pronunciation in the acquisition of language skills and attach great importance to phonetic exercises.
This approach takes the stress out of the learning process and makes it very effective.
